Priory School is proud to announce the launch of the book, ‘Beyond the Ha Ha Wall: The History of Priory School and the Holy Child Convent School’ written by Leanne Flood, Head of English.

The chapters chart the development of the school from 1936 through to the modern day detailing extracts from the headmistress’ diaries, school magazines and newspaper articles as well as memoires from the war years and beyond. Take a trip to Edgbaston following the Norman Conquest and track the growth of the suburb through to the Middle Ages; learn about the significance of the area during the Roman Empire and about the celebrities that have been involved in our school.

The book is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of the Sisters of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus who answered the call of the Archbishop of Birmingham to provide exemplary schooling within the Catholic community. It was in the serene faith of obedience to authority that Reverend Mother Mary St Mark carried out her overwhelming task. To her and her successors, we offer our heartfelt thanks.

Books will be available for purchase directly from school following the official launch on Friday 6th July 2018.
